Description

To start a quite new methodology in teachers' further training on e-learning - we have to exactly see the preliminary competences of the would be participants. Tenegen consortium devepoled an online survey based on a questionnaire with 50 questions to carry out the needs-analysis. The platform and the questionnaire is available in five languages (HU, IT, DE, TR, EN): http://survey.prompt.hu .

Target group

Direct target group: supervisors, tutors, instructors who will take part in the establishment of the course.
Indirect: e-learning providers, e-learning designers, tutors, instructors who want to establish a successful online course for teachers to develop their e-learning 2.0 competences.

Result

The needs-analysis was carried out by using online questionnaire with 50 questions elaborated by the Tenegen consortium.
As a result we offer two products:
1. the online questionnaire for any other survey to measure teachers' e-learning 2.0 competences.
2. The analysis is based on 110 samples in Hungary with the participants of teachers and trainers of vocational education and of HE.

Area of application

Every e-learning provider can use the results for designing further training program to develop e-learning competences of teachers and trainers. Besides that Tenegen consortium offers the survey portal and the online questionnaire for research carried out in any European country.

TC02 – Networked learning
An active knowledge exchange of the net generation takes place on the Internet in several networks. The main objective of the module is the systematic use of this potential in the education.

Description
The module gives an introduction to the network theory and to the connectivism as a learning theory. It introduces in educational use of interactive 2.0 tools in the networks. The teachers will explore the ways of collaborative network learning, of collaborative knowledge building and of educational knowledge management. They will create e-portfolios, they will learn how to use e-portfolios and how to organize the learning into network.

The author of the module is dr. István Bessenyei the well-known Hungarian researcher who was one of the firsts who conceptualized necessity of the educational changes generated by the digital age more than ten years ago.

Target group
We offer this module for all teachers and trainers throughout Europe who are interested in adapting their pedagogical practices to meet the needs of the students born into the digital age.
Primary target group: teachers and trainers of vocational and adult education, staff of higher education, students of VET schools, university students of teacher education

Secondary target groups: headmasters of VET schools, European e-learning providers, HE institutes for teacher education.

Result

Area of application
The module can be used independently from other modules of the Tenegen course for further training program of teachers, trainers and for the staff of HE - to develop their e-learning 2.0 competences, their advanced digital competences, networking methods. The module has a well elaborated technological background to carry out successful further training programs, but works really well together with the pedagogical model developed by the Tenegen consortium, with an intensive support of tutors.

Tenegen Pedagogical Model

Description

TPM was elaborated to establish common, reusable and unified specifications, defining both the pedagogical and technological aspects of the further training program. It gives a conceptual basis for creating clear consistency among the course components: all of the planed competencies should be strongly supported by the generated activities (searching, selecting, discussions, collaboration) and the assessment should be based on the measure of the quantity and quality of the activities processed by the teacher. All the planed activities, developed skills and learning outcomes will be a small part in developing the teachers’ ability to apply the knowledge in a complex pedagogical tasks based on network learning theory and using the e-learning 2.0 tools. Tenegen Pedagogical Model
1.    is based on the results of the survey of needs-analysis carried on in Hungary and Turkey involving the primary target group (VET teachers and trainers);
2.    focuses on the demands of the secondary target group, of the Net Generation;
3.    is based on the results of two former LdV projects, NETIS and SLOOP;
4.    utilizes the experiences of the – in the Hungarian system accredited – e-learning course for VET teachers “E-learning – the future of the schools” developed by Prompt Educational Centre for Informatics;
5.    integrates the present suggestions and standards in the European and worldwide e-learning developments – from both technological and pedagogical aspects;
6.    integrates the worldwide achievements of the new pedagogical paradigm of connectivism.

Target group

Result

Tenegen Pedagogical Model is the documentation of the learning objectives, learning outcomes of the Tenegen course, with the Tenegen Competency Framework (TCF) demonstrating the dependencies among the skills and competences. It defines the assignments so that they ensure the correct measure of the learning outcomes.

-    can serve as a model for planning online further training programs,
-    gives a basis for educational institutes, e-learning providers who want to establish Tenegen course
-    covers all the conceptual backgrounds for the course organizers, for the instructors and tutors who will supervise the course.
