A pénteki találkozó végén arról beszéltünk, hogy a Moodle gyakorlati használatát mennyire fogjuk oktatni a kurzusokban. Mivel úgy látszott, hogy olyan részletességben, ahogy egy nem infó szakos tanár igényli, nem lesz rá lehetőség, ezért javasoltam, hogy készítsünk egy jegyzetet a Moodle-ről. Ez részben könnyű, hiszen páran már aktívan használjuk, részben meg nehéz, mert a neten már sok anyag elérhető és mi újat tudunk mi adni ehhez?

Ez a kérdés járt a fejemben egész délelőtt és végül megvilágosodtam (és Budha lettem :-). Amit ilyenkor általában elfelejtünk és lehet, hogy kicsit rossz irányban indulunk el, az az, hogy mindig csak a technológiát, az eszközt akarjuk megtanulni és nem a módszert vagy az elveket. Pedig a módszerek megismerésével annyi előnyünk még lehetne, hogy egy kissé eszközfüggetlenné válhatunk. Ha viszont a másik oldalról nézzük, akkor pedig a konstruktivizmus megismerése segít megérteni azt, hogy a Moodle miért olyan eszköz, amilyen. A harmadik okom pedig az, hogy a modern tanár számára mindenképpen szükséges, hogy pedagógiai módszertárát fejlessze.

Töprengésem továbbieredménye az lett, hogy rájöttem, a tanárok számára sok információ haszontalan lehet a tanulási terek kialakításakor, viszont a rendszergazdák számára pedig szükséges, így a tanári útmutató mellett egy rendszergazdait is érdemes lenne elkészíteni.

A munkával kapcsolatban kérdés, hogy milyen formában és terjedelemben készítsük el ezeket az anyagokat?

Dear All

I think that we should start a debate on the Tenegen course designs, and the components that we would like to see included in these. There are five courses and I would want us to avoid having five very different structures, styles and interfaces.

To this end I have uploaded two documents to start discussion: one on course components, the other on the differences that I see between Learning Objectives (which I use heavily) and Learning Outcomes (which were mentioned on a number of occasions at the kick-off meeting). These papers are for discussion, revision and -- eventually -- agreement.

You can fire comments direct to me on email, but it would be more informative to use this thread for a wider discussion that would allow others to dip into.

Tenegen Workflow and Storyboard

Description

TWS is documentation for the technical establishment of Tenegen modules in learning management systems. It describes all the course components needed to reach the learning objectives, and to the effective development of the skills and competences defined in the pedagogical model.

The importance of a comprehensive e-learning design was highly stressed by the experts of Tenegen, in order to establish a consistency between the pedagogical, methodological, physiological and technological factors of the learning/teaching process.

TWS aims to reach strong consistency among the applied course components and the learning objectives. It defines the course components for the modules and gives a technological guide for the implementation the learning objects into Moodle environment. TWS we used the study written by Ken Currie (the expert of our English partner, CAPDM Ltd.) who based his course design methods on the most widely applied international standards.

Target group

Direct target group: supervisors, tutors, instructors who will take part in the establishment of the course.
Indirect: e-learning providers, e-learning designers, tutors, instructors who want to establish a successful online course for teachers to develop their e-learning 2.0 competences.

Result

TWS describes all course components needed to fulfill the learning objectives defined in Tenegen Pedagogical Model and to scaffold the development of skills and competences defined in Tenegen Competency Framework. It serves as a guide for the implementation.

Area of application

The main idea behind TWS was that e-learning will be successful only if the technology serves as background for the pedagogical aims. The designing methodology to fulfill this requirement is based the conception that the LMS chosen for the implementation makes possible to build the environment from flexible modules. TWS was elaborated for the Tenegen course, but the model can be used generally in designing e-learning solutions based on Moodle or other LMS which supports the modularity.

Tenegen Pedagogical Model

Description

TPM was elaborated to establish common, reusable and unified specifications, defining both the pedagogical and technological aspects of the further training program. It gives a conceptual basis for creating clear consistency among the course components: all of the planed competencies should be strongly supported by the generated activities (searching, selecting, discussions, collaboration) and the assessment should be based on the measure of the quantity and quality of the activities processed by the teacher. All the planed activities, developed skills and learning outcomes will be a small part in developing the teachers’ ability to apply the knowledge in a complex pedagogical tasks based on network learning theory and using the e-learning 2.0 tools. Tenegen Pedagogical Model
1.    is based on the results of the survey of needs-analysis carried on in Hungary and Turkey involving the primary target group (VET teachers and trainers);
2.    focuses on the demands of the secondary target group, of the Net Generation;
3.    is based on the results of two former LdV projects, NETIS and SLOOP;
4.    utilizes the experiences of the – in the Hungarian system accredited – e-learning course for VET teachers “E-learning – the future of the schools” developed by Prompt Educational Centre for Informatics;
5.    integrates the present suggestions and standards in the European and worldwide e-learning developments – from both technological and pedagogical aspects;
6.    integrates the worldwide achievements of the new pedagogical paradigm of connectivism.

Target group

Result

Tenegen Pedagogical Model is the documentation of the learning objectives, learning outcomes of the Tenegen course, with the Tenegen Competency Framework (TCF) demonstrating the dependencies among the skills and competences. It defines the assignments so that they ensure the correct measure of the learning outcomes.

Area of application

Tenegen Pedagogical Model
-    can serve as a model for planning online further training programs,
-    gives a basis for educational institutes, e-learning providers who want to establish Tenegen course
-    covers all the conceptual backgrounds for the course organizers, for the instructors and tutors who will supervise the course.

Tenegen Syllabus

Dear Partners,

you find the first draft of Tenegen curriculum (with all modules, but pay attention, the 5th module (SLOOP) has not been completed yet, we wait the final version from CNR) in the folder: Documents/WP1-2_Course_Development/Work, and I attached it below too. I think it is useful to see the module descriptions inspite of that the handbook is under construction.

You see in our modules (1,3,4) some example for the planned assignments, but they may be also modified later a bit. I attached a draft version of the first assignment in TC01, to let see our conception.

Tenegen Learning Resources Repository

This is a proposal for the repository of learning resources that should be implemented for the Tenegen community.The repository is based on the Freeloms platform we developed in the context of the Sloop project. The main features of the repository are listed:

The Tenegen repository will allow users of the Tenegen portal to get access to the repository directly from Moodle.
Downloading a resource from the repository and using it in a Moodle-based course: users can select resources stored in the repository and publish them in their Moodle course by using the usual Moodle interface; in other words, they will upload a file in Moodle as usual, but instead of accessing their file system, they will be accessing the Tenegen repository.
Uploading a resource in the Tenegen repository: whenever a user will upload a resource form his/her file system to the Moodle course, the resource will be automatically uploaded into the Tenegen repository, so that it will become available to the Tenegen teachers community
Whole Moodle courses (and not simple the contents) could be shared buy using similar mechanisms
Search mechanism: it will be possible to search resources in the Tenegen repository by using the usual Moodle search mechanism
Metadata: we should decide which model of metadata we want to implement for our project. In the Sloop project, we worked with the IEEE LOM model; it turned out to be quite complicated for teachers to use them; somehow, we should think to something easier, maybe we should look at existing application profiles. Suggestions are warmly welcome
Automatic mechanisms to create SCORM-compliant resources. We have some doubts about the implementation of this mechanism for the Tenegen community. The Tenegen repository will allow users to upload all type of digital contents, including SCORM compliant ones. Nevertheless, we would avoid developing specific mechanism to enable users to create SCORM learning objects, since it could be extremely difficult to activate these mechanisms directly from the Moodle interface, and we risk to make the Moodle interface less usable as it is now.
Direct access to the Tenegen repository could be given in order to enable more functions.
