TC05 - Sharing learning objects

Description

This module will help the participants to understand the “open” philosophy/model which has been successfully adopted in the field of software development; to identify the state of the art concerning Learning Objects (LOs), LOs standards and LOs repositories; to describe the features of a specific model for learning object, called openLO; to discover the opportunities, for schools and teachers, of a sharing/co-operative approach in LOs production.
Units
-    Using eLearning to enhance teaching and learning in schools: the learning materials, a critical point,
-    Reusability, adaptability, interoperability: the Learning Object model and the SCORM and LOM standards.
-    The “open” model: free/opensource software and open content. The copyleft licences.
-    The openLO model: technical, pedagogical and legal aspects.
-    Learning Object Repositories: features and characteristics of the principal digital repositories.
-    The freeLOms: an environment where to share and produce LOs in a co-operative way.

Target group

Primary target group: teachers and trainers of vocational and adult education, staff of higher education, students of VET schools, university students of teacher education

Secondary target groups: headmasters of VET schools, European e-learning providers, HE institutes for teacher education.

Result

Area of application

This further training module available through the Internet (as a part of the Tenegen course) for European teachers who want to gain the competences to use e-learning methods in their classroom work. At the end of the module the participants will be able to create standard e-learning objects, to publish it in LMS, and use it with their students. They understand how they can utilize the offers of online repositories, and how they can share they own e-learning products online.

TC04 - Moodle course as classroom event

The aim of the module is to prepare the participants to work in an open source learning environment (LMS). It gives detailed, practice-oriented demonstration of the learner-side and teacher-side activities, and gives an introduction how to administer in the environment. The participants will be prepared, how to manage users, how to create courses, how to integrate e-learning content and activities. They will be able to design, create their own course, to publish tasks and tests for students, to supervise the learning event, generate collaboration and communication, and use methods to assess the learners’ activities. They will and evaluate it against the pedagogical aims.

Result

Area of application

This further training module available through the Internet (as a part of the Tenegen course) for European teachers who want to gain the competences to create classroom events. It helps to utilize the possibilities of an LMS in their daily classroom work. At the end of the module the teachers will be able to create their own Moodle course, they will pilot and evaluate the classroom event based on the online course.

TC03 – Educational use of ICT

In this module the participants will get acquainted with the pedagogical design of an e-learning curriculum, they learn how to plan and document the steps of creating an interactive multimedia.

Description
They will learn what a synopsis and storyboard mean and how to prepare them. At the end of the module the participants will be able to create or collect e-learning objects to a special part of their subject, they will plan an e-learning event based on these e-learning objects.

The author of the module is dr. István Bessenyei the well-known Hungarian researcher who was one of the firsts who conceptualized necessity of the educational changes generated by the digital age more than ten years ago.

Target group
We offer this module for all teachers and trainers throughout Europe who want to take part in the development of e-learning materials as an author or as a pedagogical expert.

Primary target group: teachers and trainers of vocational and adult education, staff of higher education, students of VET schools, university students of teacher education

Secondary target groups: headmasters of VET schools, European e-learning providers, HE institutes for teacher education.

Result
Online training module implemented in Moodle environment in three languages (Hungarian, English, Turkish), including core contents, detailed module information for the participants, video tutorials and integrated web 2.0 tools, self assessment tools, tasks, tests, feedbacks. The course components - core learning content, module descriptions, glossaries, videos, self assessment tools, assignments, quizzes, learning instructions and tutorials) are implemented as a standard Moodle course. Other components for generating online collaboration and discussions are partly inside Moodle modules and are partly integrated as web 2.0 applications.

Area of application
The module can be used independently from other modules of the Tenegen course for further training program of teachers, trainers and for the staff of HE - to develop their e-learning 2.0 competences, their advanced digital competences, networking methods. The module has a well elaborated technological background to carry out successful further training programs, but works really well together with the pedagogical model developed by the Tenegen consortium, with an intensive support of tutors.

TC02 – Networked learning
An active knowledge exchange of the net generation takes place on the Internet in several networks. The main objective of the module is the systematic use of this potential in the education.

Description
The module gives an introduction to the network theory and to the connectivism as a learning theory. It introduces in educational use of interactive 2.0 tools in the networks. The teachers will explore the ways of collaborative network learning, of collaborative knowledge building and of educational knowledge management. They will create e-portfolios, they will learn how to use e-portfolios and how to organize the learning into network.

Tenegen modules can be used as parts of a whole course with the outcomes of advanced competences in integrating e-learning 2.0 into the teachers' classroom work. But they can be used separately beacuse each of them has a well elaborated structure idelaing with a specific area of e-learning. Description

This is a module on e-learning 2.0 methodologies fully available online. After completing this module the participants will be able to navigate, collaborate and hold discussions in the e-learning environment. They will be able to describe the main features of online learning management systems, the existing standards and will be able to select the appropriate LMS for achieve their pedagogical aims. They will be able describe the elements of IPR issues of e-learning developments. They will be able to analyze the needs of their students (Net Generation) and synthesize new knowledge in evaluating their present pedagogical methods and the pedagogical program of their schools. They will be able to identify and categorize Web 2.0 tools, and to explore their pedagogical potential.
