(The article was based on a presentation held in January 1999, at Budapest IT conference "Roles of the libraries in education".)

This article is interesting, not only because of its historical value, but also because it refers to the concepts of "digital pedagogy", "knowledge based society", "Net Generation", which have become crucial only in recent years in the educational world. A decade ago, the author summarized the trends, the needs, the requirements of the digital era - as he says: "myths, doubts and hopes". He formed questions that are really up-to-date, and we still have not found the answers

can we create a computer which is able to do what the teacher does?

Is the computer capable of doing something that the teacher is not?

What can we use multimedia and the Internet in education for? Do we really need to use them?

To what extent can a student be motivated, how long does the "magic" of a new tool last?

How should the teachers' attitude change in order to meet the requirements of the Net Generation?

Does ICT have any chance of improving efficiency in education at all?

The author says: "Beyond doubt the education based on the new interactive multimedia needs new paradigms", and to explaine his statement he quotes the widely referred book of Don Tapscott (Growing Up Digital, Mcraw-Hill, New York, 1998.), listing the most important changes required in the education. Their thesis are as up-to-date as they were at the date of publishing Tapscott's book and the article of P. Fehér:

teacher-centered education must turn to student centered-education

instead of swotting the students must learn "to learn", to select and navigate

instead of uniform teaching a tailored teaching should be developed

the teacher should be a facilitator instead of being a "sender"

teaching should be fun and not a nightmare

The author concludes that the teachers are still the key players in education to take the first step to achieve the above mentioned aims. Ten years after the article was written, we intend to help teachers achieve the same objectives in Tenegen project. What is important for us is, that during the last ten years the second generation of web development (called Web 2.0 phenomenon) offers a lot of new sophisticated tools for facilitating communication, collaboration and sharing knowledge through the internet, which could not be imagined ten years ago. These tools give a new chance to achieve the aims invented by the authors. But the question "how?" has not answered yet. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to seek for new ways in the frame of the LdV project, Tenegen.

Róbert Farkas, Mária Hartyányi

You find the article of Péter Fehér in Hungarian on the website of the Pedagogical Review.

Nyelv Angol

Project:

Tenegen

Public visibility permission:

Public

Tue, 31 Mar 2009 13:13:07 +0000 Aniko 361 at http://tenegen.eu Fehér Péter "A számítógép az oktatásban a harmadik évezred küszöbén" (1999) című cikkéről http://tenegen.eu/hu/content/090331/feher-peter-szamitogep-oktatasban-harmadik-evezred-kueszoeben-1999-cimu-cikkerol

- A mindenki számára tervezett „egyenoktatás” helyett egyéni, testre szabott képzés.
- Az oktatás kínszenvedés helyett szórakozás legyen.
- A tanár adó (információforrás) helyett segítő (facilitátor) legyen.

Persze a "hogyan?" továbbra is kérdés maradt. Szerncsések vagyunk, hogy egy Európai Uniós projekt keretén belül próbálkozhatunk új utak felderítésével.

A cikk teljes terjedelmében olvasható a Magyar Elektronikus Könyvtár honlapján.

Farkas Róbert, Hartyányi Mária

Nyelv Magyar

Project:

Tenegen

Public visibility permission:

Public

Tue, 31 Mar 2009 10:30:06 +0000 frobben 359 at http://tenegen.eu Learning Resource Exchange - Tananyagok megosztása http://tenegen.eu/hu/content/090328/learning-resource-exchange-tananyagok-megosztasa

!!hu!!A lreforschools.eun.org címen elérhető az európai Learning Resource Exchange (tananyagforrás-csere) portál, ahol különbőző országok számos tartalomszolgáltatója – köztük 16 oktatási minisztérium – jóvoltából ingyenesen használható oktatási tartalmak, tananyagelemek találhatók, melyek között témák és nyelvek alapján kereshetünk!
!en!!On lreforschools.eun.org url available Learning Resource Exchange (LRE) portal for schools where you can find open educational resources and assets from many different countries and providers, including 16 Ministries of Education. It describes all the course components needed to reach the learning objectives, and to the effective development of the skills and competences defined in the pedagogical model.

The importance of a comprehensive e-learning design was highly stressed by the experts of Tenegen, in order to establish a consistency between the pedagogical, methodological, physiological and technological factors of the learning/teaching process.

TWS aims to reach strong consistency among the applied course components and the learning objectives. It defines the course components for the modules and gives a technological guide for the implementation the learning objects into Moodle environment. TWS we used the study written by Ken Currie (the expert of our English partner, CAPDM Ltd.) who based his course design methods on the most widely applied international standards.

Target group

Direct target group: supervisors, tutors, instructors who will take part in the establishment of the course.
Indirect: e-learning providers, e-learning designers, tutors, instructors who want to establish a successful online course for teachers to develop their e-learning 2.0 competences.

Result

TWS describes all course components needed to fulfill the learning objectives defined in Tenegen Pedagogical Model and to scaffold the development of skills and competences defined in Tenegen Competency Framework. It serves as a guide for the implementation.

Area of application

The main idea behind TWS was that e-learning will be successful only if the technology serves as background for the pedagogical aims. The designing methodology to fulfill this requirement is based the conception that the LMS chosen for the implementation makes possible to build the environment from flexible modules. TWS was elaborated for the Tenegen course, but the model can be used generally in designing e-learning solutions based on Moodle or other LMS which supports the modularity.

Authors:
Mária Hartyányi, Prompt education, Hungary
Ken Currie, CAPDM Ltd.
